1700 Voices, One Connection: UCSF Music Therapy Takes Center Stage at Dreamforce 2024

On September 17th, the UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Music Therapy team brought the power of music to Salesforce’s Dreamforce 2024 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco. Ahead of the Health Keynote: Transform the Patient & HCP Experience With AI-Powered Connections, our team—Matt, Madelene, Brianna, and Jenny—led an experiential music therapy warm-up for an audience of 1700 tech and healthcare leaders.

The crowd joined together to sing in three-part vocal harmony, playing with dynamics and tempo under the guidance of our team. For a few moments, this diverse group of innovators and leaders was united by a shared musical experience. It was a rare and powerful moment of connection and mindfulness at a conference known for its fast-paced energy and cutting-edge discussions.

At the end of our Dreamforce session, Salesforce surprised the Music Therapy team with a generous $20,000 donation to support our program. This funding will help us continue delivering impactful music therapy services to the patients and families who need it most.

But the excitement didn’t stop there! The Music Therapy team was invited to Dreamfest, the legendary Dreamforce concert that raises funds for UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospitals. Held at Oracle Park, Dreamfest featured spectacular performances by P!nk and Imagine Dragons. It was an unforgettable night of music and celebration, all in support of the vital work we do for our patients and families.

It was truly a win on every front—sharing the healing power of music, engaging a room full of inspiring leaders, attending a concert that supports our mission, and securing crucial funding for our donor-supported program. A heartfelt thank you to Salesforce for helping us amplify our message and for their unwavering support.
