2019 Holiday Extravaganza

What an exciting moment at Benioff Children's Hospital. The Creative Arts Team hosted the 3rd annual Holiday Extravaganza. This live TV show had lots of singing, art, and jokes. The show was presented throughout the hospital, allowing patients from all areas to participate. Some patients called into the show and were heard live on TV. Those who attend the studio audience have the opportunity to co-host. We had two people from the audience who joined us on set. The first was a sibling of a patient, who happens to be a talented host. The second person to join us on camera was Dr. Michael Anderson, President of Benioff Children's Hospitals. Dr. Anderson does know how to have fun, as you will see in the video.

The Creative Arts Team is part of the Child Life Services Department (CLS). During the holiday season, CLS hosts many events that help families cope during this special time. Events like The SF Ballet Nutcracker, Santa, and the Holiday Store (everything is free) reach many families. Child Life Services is comprised of Music Therapists, Art Therapist, Teachers, and Child Life Specialists.
