Music Therapy Internship Nationally Recognized

Over the past five years, we have been building our internship program and have successfully graduated eight interns. All of them are now board certified music therapists, and three more will finish our program in 2023. Our interns are instrumental in the excellent care we provide to our patients and families. The internship is the culmination of their studies, and they spend six months with us honing their skills and preparing to enter the field. One of my favorite things about supervising interns is learning from them; they come with fresh perspectives and new ideas and challenge me to continue to refresh my own practice.

We are excited to share a special achievement; we have been approved as a National Roster internship site by the American Music Therapy Association (AMTA). The process was rigorous, culminating in a 100-page document outlining our strengths and our evidence-based training philosophy. This new designation highlights our program nationally and will attract high-quality candidates from across the country.

We had the privilege of celebrating this accomplishment recently with our team and our Chief Nursing Officer, Judie Boehmer. Stay tuned for many more updates as we continue to train the next generation of music therapists! We encourage you to scroll through our past blog posts to see some of the amazing work of our past interns.
