Portraiture @ Exploratorium

Exploratoium-feature.png

BCH artists are currently exhibiting 14 larger than life self-portraits as part of the Exploratorium’s “Self Made” exhibit! Now through August 24th. Created by patients and their siblings at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital with art therapist, Shalene Hatton, MFT, ATR, these portraits explore the identity, interests, and feelings of the young patient-artists at the hospital. Each piece begins with the artist having their shadow silhouette traced to serve as the foundation for the work. The artists are then invited to express their inner life on the canvas.
