SF Symphony and UCSF Music Therapy Spotlight

The UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Music Therapy program was honored to be the San Francisco Symphony’s featured community partner for the month of February! If that’s how you found us, welcome!

Here are some highlights of our partnership with the San Francisco Symphony:

Music on the Units:

Symphony musicians come once a month to perform on the hospital units. These intimate performances bring live music directly to patients, families and staff.

Instrument Petting Zoo:

A variety of instruments were brought to the hospital, allowing our young patients to touch, play, and learn about them. Watching their faces light up with excitement as they explore the sounds and feel of each instrument is truly heartwarming. These moments not only provide fun and joy but also ignite a passion for music that can last a lifetime.

Concert for Recently Discharged Patients:

One of the most touching highlights of our collaboration is the special concerts we hold for recently discharged patients and their families. These concerts offer a joyful and celebratory experience, helping families create happy memories after their hospital stay.

Our partnership with the San Francisco Symphony has brought immense joy to our patients and their families through the power of music. We look forward to creating more wonderful moments together in the future.
